BOOGIE DE NAVIDAD 2011

The Skydive Empuriabrava Christmas boogie has been running
every year for 27 years. Many stories and memories have been made over this
time. One particular story from well known load organisier Dave Lewis, working
his first Christmas boogie at Empuria,

''My first boogie I went to
was this event 25 years ago and it was actually at Girona airport!, many many
years before Ryanair and there was only one commercial flight a week back then.
Now look, I am load organising with Milko, Billy Payn, Pete Allum, Ivan Coufal,
Amelie Tirman and Regan Tetlow at this World famous boogie, what an
honour!''

It was great to have Dave joining the line up on the FS
organising, they were joined by Babylon organising the FF.

Other
memories from this year include Maria Russell doing her 2000th jump at sunset
followed by downing a beer on the landing area. Also the sound of the Belgiums
''whoop whooping' in the bar..

We finished with two Twin Otters and two
Dornier G92s on the flight line, big thanks to James Swallow for providing the
extra aircraft. With 351 people making 3600 jumps it was a great
success made even better by the slick apres jump programme put together by
Regan. With a daily video of the jumps, food, free beer, fancy dress, DJs and a
tombola everynight all starting at 16:30 to ensure no gap between end of jumping
and party, the days flowed and kept a fresh feel going with lots of great
feedback from the skydivers.

Soon, a book with a selection (by Mike Gorman) of photos of the
boogie, will be published.

Skydive Empuriabrava is
already planning the Easter boogie right now and we will include a beach
jump event to keep it exciting! Hope to see you soon!
