Barcelona, Girona, Roses and Figueres are some of the largest cities in the surrounding region. They are home to gems such as the Dalí Museum and the Museum of the Empordà Region in Figueres; the Cathedral, Jewish Quarter and the historic old town in Girona; and the Picasso Museum in Barcelona. 

Castelló d'Empúries is a lovely medieval town that still maintains traits of its splendid past. A visit to its streets and squares, basilica, Curia-Prison, public washhouse or Ecomuseu-Farinera are well worth it.
